Ski slopes in the Lublin region

Map of ski slopes in Lublin Region (Poland)

Lublin region has been positioned for a long time as a frequently visited place where winter sports enthusiasts can set their first steps. This is not surprising – there are many places in the Lublin Upland, where nature has prepared optimal conditions for driving downhill.
First of all, in the opinion of experienced skiers, the slopes in the Lublin province are ideal for warming up before the start of the season in the mountains, as well as after the season. An undeniable advantage is the distance here. For example, amateurs of white madness from Warsaw – instead of spending 10 hours in Zakopianka, they can – after less than 2-3 hours by car – take a ride in Kazimierz Dolny, Chrzanów or Bobliwie. If you add reasonable prices, dining facilities and accommodation, the Lublin province becomes the perfect place for a quick skiing trip!
Secondly, Lublin’s slopes are wonderful places for those who are just beginning their adventure with winter sports. Most of the slopes are mild, but there are also routes that require certain skills – that’s why they are perfect for spending the winter holidays with children there. Only a few locations have so diverse routes that they are able to meet the requirements of all amateurs of white madness. It is widely known that seasoned skiers and snowboarders praise slopes that are fairly steep. On the internet forums they say Chrzanów is “moderately steep.” However, professional skiers who like extreme riding will simply go to the mountains.
Thirdly, the big advantage of the Lublin slopes in Bobliwie, Jacnia, Rąblów or Sulów is the rural climate, which is praised by those who like to stay away from the big city noise and everyday life. But if someone is looking for the climate of a charming town, his obvious choice should be Kazimierz Dolny.
The growing number of slopes in the Lublin region creates a climate of competition and fight for the client, which gradually encourages the resort owners to raise the level of their offers.
Current data on which slope has the longest downhill route or the longest ski lift changes virtually from season to season. In fact, on existing slopes, things like regular grooming, artificial snowing and lighting up dark trails are standard today. Most resorts also provide their guests with accommodation and meals, free parking, WiFi, ski and snowboard equipment rentals as well as driving instructors. Everywhere there are flat fields to practice for beginners and in many places SnowParks for snowboarders.
However, before we decide on which ski slope is the best, the most professional and friendly to skiers, let’s take a look at their shortcomings. One of the minuses, common for the Lublin slopes, is the situation that takes place during weekends and holidays, when it usually turns out that the stations are not ready to serve more guests. Usually, there is a shortage of equipment in the rental companies and several minute queues are created to the lifts. Therefore, when going to the slope at the weekend, you have to be aware of the fact that the rental equipment may not be there for you and it is best to secure your own skis or board. It is also worth to be patient, because every minute in the queue to the lift will probably last forever – and the tickets are after all temporary. It is a pity that no one has so far implemented the idea that the tickets would be valid for the number of downhill slides, not for 2 or 3 hours. It is very likely that it would reduce the amount of stress and frustration among queuing weekend skiers.
Below there is a summary of the Lublin slopes, thanks to which you will be able to find out where it is worth to go this year. To find out whether the slope is already open and also to check the opening times and ticket prices, it is best to use links leading to information on the websites of individual locations.
Instead of reading an infinite number of reviews posted on internet forums, which are often the only form of advertising or a way to destroy competition, it’s best to get in your vehicle and go on a winter tour on all the Lublin slopes and check them all by yourself.
To sum up, it is worth noting that each of the slopes existing in the Lublin region is special and will let you experience something that you will not find on others – sometimes it will be a unique atmosphere, sometimes exceptionally nice service, professional dining facilities, beautiful surroundings, additional running routes or ice rinks. Therefore, it is really worth thinking about spending active holidays on one of the slopes of the Lublin region, and if not holidays, then at least organizing a weekend trip there.
